We are sure that many of you playing recently would have noticed the numerous holes appearing in the net as the summer has gone on.
So with every intention by Chantal & David of undertaking this hand stitching repair on their own, after a conversation with Jane, Elena and Trish who pointed out the error of their ways and volunteered to help, the Court was booked out for repairs for one hour on Thursday 13th August, and we all soon got underway.
Unfortunately when Sjan, Frank & Chrissie arrived at 11am to revisit their regular foursome from last summer with Jane, we had got less than a quarter done. Taking pity on us Sjan & Frank also volunteered to come back at 6pm that day to help us!
Accompanied by David, Peter & Frank with wine and beers in hand, we soon got stuck in again and worked relentlessly for another 3 hours to complete the job! No doubt the straightness of the stitching took a hit as the wine and beers were soon consumed, amidst much conversation and laughter, but still, we are happy to announce that the net is now back to its former glory, ready to take the impacts from those of us who don’t quite hit the ball over the net!
So we now offer a huge thank you to Jane, Chantal, Elena, Trish, Frank and Sjan for their hard work and to the boys for keeping them replenished throughout.
